The recruitment of NEPA Elite Clark 17U alum Jason Shields is heating up again following the completion of his high school career at Scranton.
Shields received a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II scholarship offer from Jefferson University in Philadelphia during a visit before playing for an NEPA Elite entry in the Donofrio Classic in nearby Conshohocken Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-5 wing player received a scholarship offer from Kutztown University, another Division II program, last week and is continuing recruiting visits this week.
Shields made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points Tuesday night when NEPA Elite defeated BW Elite, 91-60, in the Donofrio Classic.
At Scranton, Shields repeated as Lackawanna League Division 1 Player of the Year while helping the Knights reach the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 6A state quarterfinals at the conclusion of a season that also included Lackawanna Division 1 and District 2-4 Class 6A Subregional title repeats.
Jefferson went 21-6, including 16-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference during the 2021-22 season.
