NEPA NXT Reno avenged a Saturday loss while claiming a division championship Sunday in the Varsity Girls Division of the Salt City Shootout in Syracuse, N.Y.
Carleena Lizza’s 15-footer with four seconds left lifted NEPA NXT to a 37-36 victory over the Syracuse Lady Eagles in the championship game.
Leah Fedorchak scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win.
NEPA NXT earned a spot in the final by going 2-1 in the round-robin portion of the four-team division.
The team out of Riverfront Sports in Scranton defeated Roc City, 37-28, then lost to the Lady Eagles, 50-40.
NEPA NXT made the final by defeating Central New York Savage-LoConti, 37-29, in the Sunday morning finale to pool play.
Lizza is from Pittston Area and Fedorchak is from Western Wayne.
