The NEPA Elite Coyle 17U and Miller 15U teams each went 2-0 Saturday, the first of their two days at the Zero Gravity Boys National Finals in Boston.

The Coyle team won Boys Varsity Division 1 Platinum, one of 13 three-team pools in the division, to reach Sunday’s bracket play.

Similarly, the Miller team won the Boys 9th Grade Division 1 Platinum, one of 10 pools of three or four teams each, to reach the championship bracket.

The Coyle team defeated Central Mass Swarm-Minarik, 57-27, and Middlesex Magic-Corc/Mahoney, 57-47. It plays Sunday at 9:10 a.m. against NE Storm 2023-Regan in an attempt to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Miller team defeated No Wasted Reps-Thomas from New Hampshire, 51-37, and the Boston Bobcats, 49-47. It plays High Rise Black from Connecticut Sunday at 8 a.m. in one of two preliminary games needed to trim the field to eight quarterfinalists.

The NEPA Elite Cooper 17U boys lost their only game and the NEPA Elite Joyce 16U team lost twice.

Stamford Peace-Purple downed the Cooper team, 60-54, in the Boys Varsity Division 2 Maroon pool.

The Joyce team lost to Middlesex Magic-Wilder, 66-55, and Chris Ward Basketball from New York, 39-35, in the Boys 10th Grade Division 1 Onyx pool. It plays a consolation game against MPC-Intrioni from Massachusetts Sunday.

Teams from 25 states are competing in the event.
