The NEPA Elite boys teams continued their road trip, moving from Atlantic City to Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County where the two 17U teams continued their recent run of success.
The Coyle 17U and Cooper 17U teams are a combined 16-5 over three events at three different locations during the past eight days.
Ben Chilson helped get it started Saturday in The Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest, going 4-for-5 from 3-point range and scoring 26 points when the Coyle team opened with a 70-43 romp over PSB DMV in the 17U HGSL 2 Championship bracket.
Will Marion added 17 points and 7 assists while Mikey Cumbo had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Team Takeover EYBL then defeated the Coyle team, 55-30.
The team’s only two losses during stops last weekend at East Stroudsburg University and Atlantic City had been in one-possession games, with one of them coming in overtime.
The Cooper 17U team received a forfeit to begin the day, then edged City Rocks NY from Binghamton, 55-53, in the quarterfinals of the 17U Pocono Championship bracket.
The NEPA Elite 15U team also picked up a win.
After falling to the Maryland Spartans, 54-46, in the 15U HGSL 1 Championship bracket, it won a losers’ bracket game, 55-46, over Prim3Tim3 HGSL.
The NEPA Elite Joyce 16U team lost both its games in the 16U HGSL 2 Championship, then losers’ bracket.
Ohio Bucks-Garcia topped the 16U team, 68-49, then Team Richmond HGSL won, 57-49.
