Ethan Meuser scored in double figures for the first time in his college career Sunday when Stonehill College fell to UMass-Lowell, 73-59, in a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I men’s basketball game.
Meuser had 10 points and 6 rebounds. He played 22 minutes in his busiest day yet for Stonehill, which is 2-6 in its first season as a Division I program.
The 6-foot-8 freshman is a former NEPA Elite Coyle 17U AAU team player, who spent a season of prep school basketball at the Hill School after graduating from Wyoming Seminary.
Meuser went 4-for-9 from the floor, missing hit only two 3-point attempts, and 2-for-2 from the line. He blocked two shots and had a steal.
In eight games, Meuser has averaged 4.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes. He is shooting 11-for-18 (61.1 percent) from the floor, 3-for-6 (50.0 percent) on 3-pointers and 7-for-7 (100.0 percent) from the line.
