Two of the four NEPA Elite boys teams concluded play Saturday in The Hoop Group’s Spring Jam Fest while the other two will continue into Sunday at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County.

A recap of Saturday’s results:

NEPA Elite 17U Coyle

NEPA Elite lost both its games in the 17U Platinum Division to finish the weekend 2-2.

The team received a bye into the Round of 16 in the 28-team championship bracket while it played in and won two Hoop Group Showcase League games Friday.

Once it began bracket play Saturday, NEPA Elite lost in two close games.

Kips Bay HGSL downed NEPA Elite, 45-44, to knock it into the bracket for Sweet 16 losers where the tournament ended with a 65-58 loss to Team New England HGSL.

Will Marion scored 21 points.

Marion, a point guard from Abington Heights, has received attention from recruiting analysts reporting on each of the three events the team participated in so far this season.

NEPA Elite 17U Frank

NEPA Elite lost twice in the 17U Gold 2 Division, but still has one game Sunday.

The team had opened Friday with a win to reach the Sweet 16 of the 32-team bracket.

Team DPS posted a 68-58 victory to knock NEPA Elite into a bracket for second-round losers where it was beaten by Unity Legends Gold, 54-31.

NEPA Elite 16U Tillery

NEPA Elite won a pair of games Saturday in the 16U Platinum Division.

After losing Friday night in the opening round of the 64-team championship bracket, NEPA Elite was placed in one of four, eight-team brackets for first-round losers.

NEPA Elite has a chance to win that bracket Sunday following Saturday’s two wins – 50-45 over DMV Rebels Blue and 34-32 over New Jersey Panthers Select.

NEPA Elite 15U Dempsey

NEPA Elite finished a 2-2 weekend with a Saturday night win to end up with a split in each of its two days at the event.

After winning its tournament opener Friday NEPA Elite lost twice, including 48-34 to New Jersey Beasts HGSL in Saturday’s first game. The team finished up with a 71-64 victory over BW Elite HGSL.
