Playing up an age group in the Atlantic City Showcase could not stop the unbeaten NEPA Elite 14U Clark girls team.

The Clark team went 4-0 in three days of Select Events Basketball competition at the Atlantic City Convention Center, capped by Sunday’s 41-35 victory over Mass Huskies-Che to finish first in the 15U Division Pool H.

Each of the other teams in the six-team pool lost at least twice.

“I think our defensive intensity and pressure overall for the weekend were a huge part of our success,” coach Kevin Clark said after Sunday’s finale. “We took some breaks at the end of today’s game a little, but that’s going to happen on a long weekend of games.

“The way we played overall is showing growth and that’s going to continue.”

NEPA Elite teams went 4-2 on the final day of the girls event and 14-11 combined for the three-day weekend.
