The NEPA Elite 17U Coyle boys team came away from the Zero Gravity The Finals in Boston with two wins in three weekend games.

The Coyle team defeated Connecticut Elite HGSL, 58-51, in a consolation game Sunday.

The other three NEPA Elite boys teams each lost Sunday.

NLA White-Coppersmith from Maine defeated the NEPA Elite 17U Frank boys, 58-44.

The Frank team finished 1-2 in the Varsity 2 Teal Division.

Train’d 2 Go defeated NEPA Elite 16U Tillery, 65-60, for its second win in three meetings between the teams in the last three events.

The NEPA Elite 15U boys dropped a 58-51 decision to Expressions Elite of New York when a comeback fell short.

Expressions led 21-5 and 24-6 early.

NEPA Elite got within 12 by halftime and, after being closer for most of the second half, got as close as four on three occasions.

Jordan Shaffer made five 3-pointers while scoring 23 points and the team finished 10-for-23 (43.5 percent) from long range.

Nate Aviles added 13 points. Tony Battaglia had five assists.

Shaffer is from Abington Heights, Aviles is from Dunmore and Battaglia from Scranton.
