Three of the four NEPA Elite boys teams came away with winning records from the Jersey Shore Jam Fest Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28 at Sportika in Manalapan, N.J.

All four teams won their only Sunday game to finish a collective 7-5 on the weekend, which included games against teams sponsored by Nike, Under Armour and Adidas.

The 16U Tillery team, one of two NEPA Elite teams to reach the quarterfinals of 16-team brackets, bounced back from a loss in that Saturday quarterfinal round. It avenged a loss in the championship game of the Zero Gravity’s The Summit a week earlier at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim by defeating Traind 2 Go, 63-62, in a Sunday losers’ bracket game.

Playing in the 16U Platinum Division, the Tillery team opened with a 75-41 rout of the New Jersey Roadrunners HGSL before dropping the quarterfinal to the Wiz Kids 3SSB, 66-55.

The 15U Dempsey team reached the 15U Platinum Division quarterfinals by forfeit before losing to the New Heights Lightning EYBL, 56-32, Saturday. The team defeated Brooklyn Basketball Academy, 55-51, in a Sunday consolation game.

The 17U Frank team was the only one that started with pool play rather than bracket competition.

In the 17U Gold Division Pool B, the Frank team split games, losing to Swarm Select from Delaware, 71-57, before beating Connecticut Energy Ant, 59-49.

The Frank team then defeated Rise As One, 48-26, in a Sunday crossover game.

The 17U Coyle team lost twice Saturday before winning its only consolation round game Sunday, 64-39, over New Jersey Shoreshots Mercer.

The team had lost to LABC UA Rise, 53-41, and New Jersey Panthers Select, 44-37, in Saturday’s games.
