The 16U Rini and 15U Scoblick teams got the NEPA Elite girls off to a fast start Friday, the first of four days of The Hoop Group’s Jersey Shore Live at Sportika in Manalapan, N.J.

Each of four NEPA Elite teams at the event had one game Friday. The two wins at the start were followed by two losses.

Each team plays two games Saturday, two Sunday and one more Monday.

A look at how each team did Friday:

NEPA Elite 15U Scoblick

The inside combination of Natalie Goldstein and Addison Kilmer led the way as NEPA Elite opened with a 46-25 victory over Connecticut Bandits in Pool C of the 15U Platinum Division.

Goldstein scored 18 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.

Kilmer added eight points, nine rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Goldstein was 5-for-8 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line while scoring 12 points in the second half when NEPA Elite outscored Connecticut, 26-9, to break open a four-point game.

Jackie Brown chipped in seven rebounds while Lily Scoblick had five steals. Amanda Dempsey, who had a team-high three assists, and Karsyn Kromko added six points each.

Goldstein and Kromko are from Honesdale. Brown and Dempsey are from Dunmore. Kilmer is from Mountain View and Scoblick from Abington Heights.

NEPA Elite 16U Rini

Jenna Hillebrand scored 15 points to lead NEPA Elite to a 61-27 rout of the New Jersey Gemz HGSL in a 16U Division Pool A game.

Seven of the eight NEPA Elite players had multiple steals as the team came up with 21.

NEPA Elite ran out to a 34-14 halftime lead with Hillebrand and Ella Smith scoring nine points each.

Hillebrand finished 7-for-12 from the floor and made two steals.

Smith missed just one shot while scoring 12 points. She was 3-for-4 from the floor, 2-for-2 on 3-pointers and 4-for-4 from the line. Smith also made three steals.

Maya Jenkins also hit two 3-pointers while scoring 10 points and making three steals.

Ella Wilson scored eight points while adding team-highs of seven rebounds and four steals.

Sophia Talutto had seven points, seven assists and three steals.

Maggie O’Shea had three steals.

Hillebrand and Jenkins are from Scranton Prep. Smith is from Wallenpaupack, Wilson from Lake-Lehman, Talutto from Dunmore and O’Shea from Scranton.

NEPA Elite 16U Butler

The South Jersey Titans-Still defeated NEPA Elite, 44-37, in a 16U Gold Division Pool A game.

Bella Dennebaum, who grabbed 10 rebounds as part of a double-double, and Nevaeh Baran scored 14 points each in the loss.

NEPA Elite trailed, 16-14, at halftime. Dennebaum had 12 points and Baran 9 in the second half.

Dennebaum is from Scranton Prep and Baran is from Nanticoke.

NEPA Elite 17U Haefele

The Global Squad 17U HGSL team defeated NEPA Elite, 59-44, in its first game under Brian Haefele, who has taken over as head coach for the remainder of the season.

Mackenzie Perluke scored 16 points in the loss.

Brenna Hunt added six points and six rebounds while Frankie Martinelli had five points, five rebounds and two blocks. Jenna Luciani blocked two shots.

Perluke is from Wyoming Valley West, Hunt is from Lake-Lehman, Martinelli from Marian Catholic and Luciani from Holy Cross.
