The NEPA Elite 16U Rini and 15U Scoblick teams each won twice Saturday, following up opening wins Friday, at The Hoop Group Jersey Shore Live, a girls basketball event at Sportika in Manalapan, N.J.

Overall, the four NEPA Elite teams went 5-3 on the day to improve to 7-5 for the event.

NEPA Elite 16U Rini

Jenna Hillebrand was the high scorer in both games as NEPA Elite put two similar beatings on overmatched 16U Platinum Division opponents.

After pounding Boo Williams Red Tide, 63-17, in a Pool A game, NEPA Elite slammed Red Rush, 65-18.

Hillebrand had 15 points and 5 rebounds against Boo Williams while Maya Jenkins (14) and Ella Wilson (11) joined her as the double-figures scorers. Jenkins also had three steals. Wilson also had seven rebounds and four blocked shots.

Sophia Talutto contributed eight points and five rebounds. Maggie Coleman had four points and three assists while Ella Smith had three assists and three steals and Claire McGrath had three steals.

NEPA Elite made 16 first-half steals while opening a 43-9 lead over Red Rush.

Hillebrand finished with 15 points and again was joined by two other double-figures scorers.

Claire McGrath had 11 points and three assists while Ella Smith had 10 points and five steals.

Talutto, who had two steals, and Jenkins added nine points each.

Maggie O’Shea and Coleman each had three assists.

Hillebrand, Jenkins and McGrath are from Scranton Prep. Wilson is from Lake-Lehman, Talutto from Dunmore, Coleman from Abington Heights, Smith from Wallenpaupack and O’Shea from Scranton.

NEPA Elite 15U Scoblick

NEPA Elite has won all three of its games by more than 20 points.

The role continued with Saturday’s 55-30 romp over Elevate Elite-Richmond HGSL and 56-29 rout of LBA Academy 15U. At 3-0, NEPA Elite leads the 15U Platinum Division Pool C.

NEPA Elite 16U Butler

Bella Dennebaum was the leading scorer and rebounder in both games as NEPA Elite split for the day in the 16U Gold Division Pool A.

Athenas 16U posted a 42-30 victory over NEPA Elite, which then defeated Staten Island Diamonds 16U, 50-36.

Dennebaum had 11 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.

Madelyn O’Shea had three assists.

Dennebaum was 9-for-11 from the floor with 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the victory.

Madeleine Walsh added nine points. Nevaeh Baran had seven points, four rebounds, four steals and four assists. Madelyn O’Shea had four steals.

Dennebaum is from Scranton Prep, Walsh from Abington Heights, Baran from Nanticoke and O’Shea from Scranton.

NEPA Elite 17U Haefele

NEPA Elite lost two 17U Platinum Division Pool D games.

The losses were to LBA Academy-1 (52-30) and New England Storm (66-38).

Ella Cooper, who grabbed four rebounds, and Mackenzie Schirg had six points each against LBA.

Brenna Hunt added three points, two assists and two steals.

Mackenzie Perluke went 6-for-9 from the floor while scoring 14 points in the second game.

Lucie Racicky grabbed seven rebounds and Mackenzie Schirg had six.

Cooper is from Valley View, Schirg from Lackawanna Trail, Hunt from Lake-Lehman, Perluke from Wyoming Valley West and Racicky from Holy Redeemer.
