The NEPA Elite 17U Zimmerman boys team used a blowout win and an overtime victory Saturday to advance to Sunday’s semifinals of the 17U Platinum 2 Division of The Hoop Group’s Summer Finale at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County.
The other boys teams from the club wrapped up their schedules last week, but the Zimmerman team, a new addition for the final month of the season, continued with one more event. The Zimmerman team and the 15U Kingery boys team were added to offer options for players from the Shamokin and Pottsville and other areas.
NEPA Elite began Saturday’s tournament with a 56-29 romp over Global Squad Platinum.
Logan Richards from Hershey scored seven points down the stretch to help the team pull out a 62-54 victory over the Mount Pleasant Bulldogs.
